Transitioning To Spring Chinese Medicine

We celebrated the Spring Equinox in March and now as we are midway through April many of us may be feeling some of the blockages and struggles that arise during this period of time.

Yes, we are experiencing the beauty of new green growth, daffodils, and chirping birds, but we also are transitioning, and with change can come discomfort.

You may be experiencing any of the following:

  • More anger or frustration

  • Allergies

  • Exhaustion from moving more

  • Indecision

In Chinese Medicine this time of year is associated with the Liver and gallbladder organs and when they are out of balance any of the above can occur. The good thing is there are some simple things you can do to help make this time of year even more enjoyable.

Healthy Spring Habits:

  1. Drinking dandelion tea supports the smooth energic flow of the liver.

  2. Taking walks and swinging your arms also contribute to getting the liver's energy moving.

  3. Acupuncture sessions weekly to reboot your system.

  4. Getting in touch with the budding earth again and prepping your garden spaces and if you don’t have one simply visit some.

  5. Using a combination of lavender, peppermint, and lemon essential oils in a diffuser to address allergy symptoms.

The main takeaway is to know that it’s ok to feel a bit out of sorts this time of year even when people assume we should all be feeling excited and happy. Whatever you’re experiencing is normal.

Can’t wait to support you and see you in the office soon.

xx Beth
