I graduated from the esteemed Tri-State College of Acupuncture in 2010 and have built a practice integrating many styles of acupuncture including Trigger Point Release Therapy, Acupuncture Physical Medicine APM, TCM traditional Chinese medicine, esoteric acupuncture, and Kikko Matsumoto KM acupuncture. I’ve studied directly with Kikki Matsumoto, Mark Seem, Dr. Mikio Sankey and Tom Bisio among many other master acupuncturists.

I spent two years apprenticing in the fast-paced 5th Street Clinic with Tom Bisio and then worked in his practice for two years specialing in Zheng-Gu Tuina, Orthopedic Needling, Sports Medicine, and Martial Arts Hit Fall Medicine. I continued on to apprentice with Nancy Park learning advanced Trigger Point Therapy needling techniques and into a deep exploration of spiritual and esoteric treatments.

My current practice has evolved to incorporate addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of healing. I do not see them as separate and believe it is important to always treat and heal the complete picture and human being.

I’m grateful to love what I do. And I came to this medicine as someone in great need of healing both physically and emotionally. It became a catalyst for transformation in my life and my mission is now to provide that for you.

What sets me apart

I firmly believe there is a difference between an acupuncture technician and a healer. What people often encounter with other acupuncturists’ sessions are applied mass protocols in shortened sessions. Often the acupuncturist is seeing more than one patient (up to 4 an hour) in multiple rooms. This can dilute the experience and doesn’t leave time to truly take in all your concerns and needs or leave time for a true healing relationship to be established.

My commitment is to treat one patient at a time. It’s important that you never feel rushed. I always take into account all concerns, rather than making you choose only one to work on. Unless there is a specific reason, you will always receive both a front-lying and back-lying treatment combined with complimentary modalities such as tuina massage, reiki, sound therapy, cranial sacral, cupping, moxa, electric stimulation, essential oils and more as needed.

My Story: How I became an acupuncturist

I often get asked how I became an acupuncturist. My patients are always curious. And I suppose it all began with my own curiosity about how acupuncture could help me with things I had been struggling with for years.

I had been living in Brooklyn for a few years and an old and dear friend had come to visit. As we were out to eat in NYC she mentioned her friend who was currently in acupuncture school as she had just spent the whole lunch listening to me talk about the struggles I was having with my drinking, insomnia, anxiety, and chronic neck pain. And I was only 30 years old at the time.

It was not the first I had heard of acupuncture, in fact, she’d been going for over 10 years, but it was the first time I was truly open to hearing her clearly and I booked an appointment at the local college’s clinic when I got home that night! Deep inside I was ready for change, actually desperate.

In my first session, I was met with kindness and deep listening by the student, Dan. He gently placed the needles and left me to rest. Tears rolled down my cheeks immediately. But they were gentle and coming from a place of great relief.

The results were profound, I felt an immediate sense of calm, less anxiety, access to joy, and finally the pain in my body was going away.

I never looked back. Acupuncture became a once or twice-a-week treatment for me that was a catalyst to getting sober, feeling at peace in my body and mind, and ultimately preventing me from illness. I was hooked.

So much so, that when I was at my wits end in the corporate hustle my intuition told me to go back to school and become an acupuncturist myself. That was over 16 years ago now, and once I made the decision to embark on the journey I knew every step of the way that I was walking into my calling as a healer.
